Thank you for attending the scrimmage and parent meeting this afternoon. If you're included on this email, you listed your email as a contact tonight.
I'm still in need of parent contacts for the following players: Andrew Luce, Riley Martinez, Liam Mays, Loren Rogge, Josh Schallenkamp, and Evan Trewhella. If anyone has their contact info or can let them know I need parent emails, that would be fantastic.
I also wanted to expand on a few items discussed today.
First, I wanted to remind everyone that our bear fan wear fundraiser's deadline is tomorrow at 4:00. This fundraiser is incredibly important for our team, so please take a look at the website and place your orders ASAP! There are items for everyone from players to parents available here: https://billingswestboyssoccer19.itemorder.com. *Update: It looks like the deadline for orders is now Aug. 24th! Still a short window, but more time to make decisions on what to purchase!
Second, I wanted to discuss why the team will be moving to Ben Steele for practices. Ben Steele is managed by Amend Park, so our point of contact regarding field space will be the same. Currently, Amend Park is at max capacity for practice space, so they would prefer West to practice at Ben Steele. I was initially going to wait until Ben Steele was updated (backstops behind nets, storage shed, and grass condition), but at this point, I'd prefer we move there now to make sure we have plenty of time and space.
Lastly, I wanted to make note of the schedule this week. Tomorrow we will be doing photos for our team poster. Please have players come in the same uniform they wore today. On Friday, practice will be at our normal time, but there will be an opportunity to watch some college soccer afterwords! MSUB is scrimmaging Rocky at Herb Klindt Field (Rocky's football field). Admission is free, so if any player would like to come watch, we'll have a West high group there!
If anyone has any questions, just let me know!
Hello everyone! Welcome to West High Boys’ Soccer. I’m incredibly excited about the upcoming season, and I’m looking forward to the hard work needed for a successful year. I coach because of my love for the game of soccer, and I’m grateful that I’m able to coach at West High--the same school I graduated from. I have a deep appreciation for this program. I owe many friendships and fond memories to my four years as a West High student-athlete. This is a classy program, and it’s also one with a rich history and success. I will work to continue to elevate this program, and I’ll make sure the team has fun playing the beautiful game to the highest level capable.
